The Remys – About Us

Here we are all are – Spring Break 2010. That’s how often we have family pictures ;-) Well, the ones that we can post that is. This family website site thing takes some major upkeep. You’d think of all people, Gary and I would know that. More pictures coming soon – so here’s my best shot at a family update (11/2011):

Chase – High School. Swimming for First Colony Swim Team (FCST) as well as Austin High School – Varsity. Still loves anything to do with hunting, fishing and guns. Would take those classes if he could find them. OH WAIT – he is taking Fisheries & Wildlife management and is working on his hunting license as he’s 17! Chase LOVES tinkering with his truck – yes, HIS truck. Just likes being outside -what’s NOT to like about that? Working towards A&M in some form or fashion, maybe the marine biology division in Galveston.

Alex – High School. Can you believe it? Taking all AP classes. Swimming for First Colony Swim Team (FCST) as well as Austin High School – Varsity. It’s driving Chase crazy that she’s on the high school team with him. We’ll just call this a “bonding experience.” Loves to sing, read, and swim. And more swimming. Will do just about anything crafty. About to drive. Has awesome grades and still wants to go to Vet school. Do I see a potential Aggie in the future ? Who knows…..she wants to swim in college. Ventured out to homecoming for the first time and had a ball; loved good, old-fashioned high school football games. Good all-around kid.

Grant – Still in elementary. About to turn 10 – hate to date this, because i wont’ remember to change it later :-) LOVES all sports and is pretty good at all of them. Relatively lethal off the line in football and ran the ball some. Made Mom nervous as he is SO FLIPPIN’ skinny. Has just finished his 3rd season of full pads for the Fort Bend Gridiron. Is playing for the Imperials (select baseball), swims for the Tarpons, and plays Spring/Fall baseball. Has a flash of an idea to swim for FCST like his bro/sis, but it quickly passes as he “does not DO cold water” during the winter. About to start basketball as it’s “the next sport” in line….loves to read. I know, it doesn’t sound like he’d sit long enough to read, right?

Gary – still working out all the time, coaching football for the Gridiron, serves on the board of Gridiron as Vice President with Bucky Richardson at the helm. Bizopia is in FULL SWING, and growing by leaps and bounds. Keeps us ALL busy – but more on that in a minute. He’s thoroughly enjoyed coaching football and sharing his love for the game with all these new kiddos. Assistant coaching is another past-time – mainly Grant’s baseball teams. Will coach basketball again I’m sure.

Mel – working at Bizopia. Can you believe it? Website Design & Web Presence Optimization…social media marketing for clients…..managing the job, the kids, and the house isn’t leaving much time for much of anything else, especially volunteering and working out. Both of which I need to do terribly – I’m on it. We just got back from what looks like an annual trip now – an AWESOME trip to Acapulco, Mexico with a great group of friends – Byrnes, Worts, and Mullers. Can’t wait until we go back next year. Pictures soon when I find a widget that will let me upload folders.

Pet Update – Caroline (the yellow lab) died last year, and Cabela – the new lab – is currently terrorizing the house and yard as a one year old. She’s gorgeous and nicely tempered for family-life. Still not sure about the hunting side of things. She’s been to training 2x now. My concern: she doesn’t seem to like guns. Doesn’t like to look at them, smell them, or hear them We’ll see. All of the reptiles (water dragon, fire-bellied toads, ball pythons) have left us for a better life. Like one NOT in our house. They all had good lives. Which brings me to Forrest (think RUN FORREST RUN), the mouse, who outlived the last snake and is now comfortably living in Grant’s room. TinkerBo (there’s a story), Polly Pan, and Wendy are chirping quite nicely upstairs. All good pets that take WAY TOO MUCH UPKEEP…..

My goal is to update frequently and get the kids on their own pages. We’ll see how that goes as no one has any time! More later!!

Mel
